Hi, my name is Caitlyn Pisarski and I'm the executive director at Siena Literacy Center. I've been working in the field of adult education for over 15 years, and I'll celebrate my 4-year anniversary with Siena next month! I believe in this work because I've seen how education transforms lives. Our growing GED program is a perfect example of this transformation. Unfortunately, changes in funding at the state level have put our GED program at risk. 

The problem: This spring, the State of Michigan announced that they ran out of funds to continue supporting the HSE-to-School voucher program, which provided vouchers for GED students to cover the full cost of the official exams. At $43.50 per test, all four tests cost $174 per learner to earn a GED. 

That's where YOU come in! A donation towards our GED program will ensure all of our students have the chance to sit for each of the four exams without the pressure of cost as a distraction. Your donation will go directly towards providing our GED learners with testing vouchers so Siena can continue to operate 100% free.

GED students at Siena sacrifice work hours, time with their families, and pursuit of their hobbies while they study. Help us keep our program 100% no-cost so students can focus on what really matters: acquiring the skills they need to pass their tests.
