"Secure the Bag" Back to School Fundraiser

The "Secure the Bag" Back to School Backpack Giveaway is more than a school supply drive—it's a community initiative focused on saving lives through education, prevention, and empowerment. As the school year begins, too many children face risks that go beyond the classroom. Accidental shootings, drug exposure, and community violence are preventable threats that we must address head-on. Our goal is to equip students not only with the tools they need to succeed academically, but also with the knowledge and support that can keep them safe.

Each child who attends this giveaway will receive a new, fully stocked backpack, along with a free T-shirt that promotes a message of living responsibly. Inside each backpack, students will find age-appropriate materials on firearm safety, safe storage practices, drug resistance education, and conflict resolution strategies. These resources are designed to spark important conversations at home and in the classroom, and to help families make informed decisions about safety.

In addition to the giveaways, the event will feature local partners offering vital services. These include firearm safety demonstrations, distribution of safe storage devices, drug prevention counselors, youth mentorship sign-ups, and mental health support. Parents and guardians will also receive educational materials to help guide conversations with their children about safety, substance abuse, and non-violence.

This event is open to all students from kindergarten through twelfth grade, and admission is completely free. Your support makes this possible. Every donation goes directly toward purchasing backpacks, supplies, educational materials, and supporting the presence of trusted resource organizations.
