About Us

We are a 501(c)(3) no kill shelter that was founded by a small group of passionate animal lovers who simply wanted to make a difference for the homeless, abandoned, neglected, and overlooked dogs of Detroit and the surrounding areas. From the beginning, our mission has been to help dogs and cats in need regardless of their breed, age, medical condition, or past. We believe every animal deserves a chance, especially the ones many others would turn away.

Our Journey

October 2023, we began this journey with big hearts, determination, and a commitment to being a voice for animals who had none. Since then, we have rescued, rehabilitated, and helped hundreds dogs and cats find the loving homes they deserve. 

We have a small shelter that houses 8 dogs at a time and one permanent resident dog - Sadie pictured above. While our shelter is small, we also have an amazing foster program where we have an additional 40-60 dogs and cats at any time. 

We have grown our volunteer base from the 7 of us that started the rescue, to a 100+ that work tirelessly day in and day out to give these discarded animals the love and care they deserve.  

Dreams for Our Future

To be in a position where we never have to say no to a dog in need because we don't have room at the shelter, don't have a foster to take them, or don't have the funds to take them on.  To continue to do what we do helping as many animals in need as possible.
