$2,375 Raised
Founded in 1839, the Detroit Boat Club Crew is one of the oldest rowing clubs in North America. Sponsored by Friends of Detroit Rowing, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and GuideStar Silver Seal of Transparency recipient, our mission is to educate, inspire, and expand access to the sport of rowing throughout Metro Detroit.
The Detroit Boat Club Crew provides rowing opportunities for people of all ages and abilities, from first-time rowers to athletes competing on national, international, and Olympic stages.
This year marks a historic milestone for our organization with the completion of our new shellhouse on Belle Isle. This new building was the result of a successful multi-year capital campaign supported by hundreds of generous donors and allows us to welcome more athletes, expand programming, and serve the Detroit community for generations to come.
Through our Motown ROWtown initiative, we introduced more than 2,000 Detroit students from Cass Technical, Renaissance, East English Preparatory Academy, Crockett Midtown High School, and University of Detroit Jesuit to the sport of rowing over the past year.
Your Rocket Community Challenge donation will help us continue expanding access to rowing, provide scholarships and youth programming, and furnish our new shellhouse so it can fully serve as a welcoming home for our athletes, families, and community. Together, we're building the future of rowing in Detroit.
