Through the Rocket Community Challenge, our goal is to raise $15,000 to help launch the YouthUp Stabilization Unit. 

Detroit Phoenix Center (DPC) partners with resilient young people to prevent homelessness and break the generational cycle of poverty. We believe young people already have the strengths to succeed. Together, we remove barriers, create opportunities, and build a future where every young person can thrive. Through YouthUp and our other programs, we provide housing support, education, mental health resources, workforce opportunities, leadership development, and basic needs. We bring resources, trusted relationships, and opportunities directly to young people where they are.

Help Detroit Phoenix Center Launch the YouthUp Stabilization Unit.

Several months ago, a young woman experiencing a severe mental health crisis made her way to the YouthUp Mobile Outreach Unit because she remembered seeing our schedule. When she arrived, she told us something we'll never forget:

"If I could just make it to the YouthUp Mobile, I knew I could get some type of support."

Our team welcomed her with compassion, stayed by her side, connected her with a mobile mental health crisis team, and continued supporting her family with utility assistance, legal support, and other resources. Her story reminded us of something we see every day: Outreach helps young people find us. Stabilization helps them move forward.

For nearly 10 years, Detroit Phoenix Center has partnered with young people by meeting immediate needs, building trusted relationships, and creating pathways to long-term stability. Through YouthUp Mobile Outreach, we've already served more than 4,000 young people across Detroit.

Now we're building what's next.

The YouthUp Mobile: Stabilization Unit is a mobile safe space where young people can rest, regroup, and receive immediate support during life's hardest moments. The unit will include rest pods, showers, food, hygiene supplies, technology, private case management space, housing navigation, behavioral health connections, transportation assistance, and referrals to education, employment, healthcare, and other community resources. Because every young person deserves someone who shows up.
