Thousands of people in Arizona could face homelessness in the coming months

Here’s how you can help

The Wildfire Family Resilience Fund was launched in partnership with Phoenix Community Alliance and Vitalyst Health Foundation to provide targeted support to individuals and families facing eviction due to COVID-19 and other economic hardships. Wildfire is a leader in providing programs and supporting others committed to ending poverty. Recently, Wildfire successfully partnered with the City of Phoenix to ensure the efficient distribution of short-term rental assistance to those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. While federal support for COVID-19 related expenses will eventually end, the threat of eviction will remain. That’s where the Wildfire Family Resilience Fund steps in.

What we do

Using established technology and distribution systems, Wildfire provides financial assistance to qualifying households who apply through partner agencies. By focusing on eviction prevention, the goal is to prevent displacement and homelessness before it starts. Now more than ever, we need to provide economic security and housing stability to Arizonans in need.

About us

Wildfire is a growing movement to end poverty. We advocate for fair practices. We collaborate on policy issues. We support community action initiatives and ensure the security and sustainability of supportive systems. Beyond easing the effects of poverty, our efforts aim to ignite lasting change: to stop poverty before it starts. This is advocacy in action for an Arizona where all may thrive.

Phoenix Community Alliance is the premier business leadership organization, working to create a stronger downtown for a better Phoenix for more than 35 years. In the mid-2000s, PCA played a vital role in fundraising and development for the Human Services Campus, a critical component in the city’s efforts to provide housing and services. The Social and Housing Advancement Committee – and subcommittees on Affordable Housing, Social Services, and Communications – was formed in 2019 to continue the conversation and take specific, targeted actions.

Vitalyst Health Foundation is on a mission to connect, support, and inform efforts to improve the health of individuals and communities in Arizona. Established following the sale of the St. Luke’s Health System to a for-profit corporation in 1996, the foundation operated as St. Luke’s Charitable Health Trust from 1996–1999, and St. Luke’s Health Initiatives from 2000–2016. Over its history, Vitalyst has invested nearly $125 million into Arizona health, in areas ranging from statewide health policy to local community gardens.
