Habitat for Humanity Detroit is excited to once again be participating in the Rocket Companies Community Challenge! This year, Habitat Detroit is also celebrating our 35th Anniversary and we are thrilled to honor the last 35 years of work as we look forward to serving the community into the next 35 years!
Habitat Detroit has built or rehabbed more than 350 homes in Wayne County, most directly in the City of Detroit. Through our Homeownership Program we help low-to-moderate income individuals and families become first-time homebuyers. Additionally, Habitat Detroit helps low-to-moderate income homeowners maintain safe, stable housing through our Critical Home Repair program and we serve the community at large with our annual CommUnity Impact days.
Over the past few months we have partnered with the Rocket Community Fund to rehab three homes in Detroit's Morningside neighborhood, complete several critical home repairs, and overhaul the Grassroots Garden - a Morningside neighborhood community garden.
We are so thankful for the generous support of the Rocket Community Fund and have been amazed by the outstanding team members from the Rocket companies who have joined us on site to volunteer.
In order to keep moving our mission forward we need your support more than ever. It's no secret that the cost of housing continues to rise making it more and more difficult to find properties we can affordably transform for our homebuyers. Additionally, the rising cost of construction materials is a challenge we face daily.
