There are approximately 650,000 feral cats in the city of Detroit. Nearly equivalent to the human population of our great city, that’s why our mission is so important.
At Detroit Community Cat Rescue we work to help reduce the feral population in our city through rescue and spay and neuter efforts. We are a team of unpaid volunteers, working with limited resources that are primarily donation based.
We are proud to be Detroit’s first licensed cat-only shelter, and we aren’t stopping there. We would like to expand our facilities in order to be able to help more cats, and soon plan to open a larger more equipped facility. However, we need your help. Because without community, Detroit Community Cat Rescue wouldn’t exist.
