A Cord of Three is partnering with Kids Empowered to launch a fundraiser with one clear mission: to help keep women and children off the streets.

Right now, the roofs of our safe houses are leaking, putting both the safety of our participants and the stability of our programs at risk. We urgently need new iron sheets to repair and protect these homes — not just to shelter those inside today, but to ensure a safe, secure environment for years to come.

By repairing our roofs, we can continue creating a lasting and sustainable impact in the community — offering women and children a secure place to live, heal, and rebuild their lives. Together, we can protect these safe spaces and the futures they represent.

Every contribution counts — join us in building safety, hope, and a stronger future.

Help Us Keep Families Off the Streets—Right Now

We are Kids Empowered On the Move—a grassroots movement that grew out of compassion and action during the COVID-19 pandemic. What started as a simple food delivery effort quickly became a lifeline for families experiencing homelessness and poverty. Today, we serve hundreds of families with food, shelter, and hope.

And now, we urgently need your help.

💥 What We Do

Every single week, our dedicated volunteers:

  • Deliver food, clothing, and furniture to families in crisis

  • Pay for hotel rooms to shelter families with nowhere to go

  • Help secure housing and cover essential costs—security deposits, utilities, car repairs

  • Connect families with legal aid, social services, and mental health support

  • Provide books and host author Zoom events for kids

  • Adopt over 200 families for Christmas and Easter, delivering gifts, joy, and dignity

Thanks to our partnership with the Plymouth Housing Commission, 20 families are now in permanent housing through vouchers we help manage. But hundreds more are waiting for their chance.

Our Story

For 20+ years, we’ve offered social-emotional programs to kids in poverty. But when the pandemic hit, everything changed. Our founder, Kimber Bishop-Yanke, organized a small food delivery for families without cars. Within two weeks, it exploded—50 volunteers delivered food to 250 families.

As volunteers met these families, they discovered deeper needs: babies sleeping in dresser drawers, families living in cars, mothers choosing between rent and medicine. That’s when we pivoted—from education to emergency aid. And we’ve never looked back.

Since then, with only two staff members and hundreds of volunteers, we’ve:

  • Delivered over 25,000 meals

  • Provided emergency shelter for 100+ families

  • Purchased five mobile homes to give families a safe place to live

  • Celebrated birthdays, shared holidays, and restored hope—one family at a time

Why We Urgently Need You

This is a critical moment. The need is rising. Families are sleeping in cars. Children are going to bed hungry. We’ve seen what’s possible when a community shows up—but we can’t do it alone anymore.

If we win this competition, we will:

  • Build a stronger infrastructure to match volunteers with families quickly and efficiently

  • Expand emergency services and long-term housing support

  • Empower families with the tools to stabilize and thrive

You can be the reason a child sleeps in a warm bed tonight.

This is about real people. Real families. And real hope.

Please, stand with us. Donate, share, and help us build a future where no family is left behind.
