The Brian Rice '02 Endowed Memorial Scholarship

In 2019, we lost our friend and brother, Brian Rice, at just 35 years old. Brian was an extraordinary person whose resilience and determination inspired everyone who knew him. After losing both of his parents by the age of 15, Good Counsel High School—our shared alma mater—stepped in and gave him the opportunity to complete his education tuition-free.

Brian embraced that opportunity with unwavering determination. He became a three-year varsity football starter at Good Counsel, earned a scholarship to play at Southeastern Louisiana University, and later transferred to Franklin & Marshall College, where he played football for three seasons while earning his degree in English.

The Brian Rice Foundation was established to pay forward the generosity and support Brian received during his life. Every dollar raised goes directly toward scholarships for deserving Good Counsel students who, like Brian, face significant hardships but possess the determination to achieve academic and athletic success.

We were honored to award our first scholarship for the 2025–2026 school year, marking an important milestone in our mission. However, there is still much work to be done. Brian's dream was to give others the same opportunity that changed the course of his own life. Through this foundation, we are committed to honoring his legacy and ensuring that his spirit of perseverance, generosity, and hope continues to impact future generations.
