Join us to support Noah at Central’s mission through this Rocket Community Challenge fundraiser!  Our donation is meant to incentivize giving during the first week of the Challenge (August 3-8).  We donate on August 8, so spread the word, share this page with other friends, and track progress on this page through and through the Rocket Challenge updates!

We are passionate about the work of Noah at Central! For over 25 years, Noah at Central has been journeying alongside Detroiters experiencing homelessness. 

Our heartwarming volunteer experience involves preparing and serving lunches monthly,  Our FFLG group started in earnest preparing sandwiches in our backyard in Plymouth during COVID (March 2020) when lots of facilities were closed.  Noah continued to serve food, and kept the local population well fed.  Throughout these past six years, our generous team of friends continues to rally around Noah at Central.  Planning the menu for generous, nutritious, ample, and varied lunches is a group effort.  We friends gather the night before to socialize and prepare the sandwiches.  It’s always fun to connect!  The next day, we serve the food that has been lovingly prepared at Noah.  Serving lunch is the best, as we have the opportunity to share and receive smiles from the clients. Through volunteering we learn more and more about all that Noah provides to the clients: a warm welcome, food, clothing, showers, fresh water, a bathroom break, and case management services to help clients work toward healthcare and social services to ultimately attain secure housing.  The smiles tell the story: food provides the nourishment and sustenance to get to the next step.   

It is easy to volunteer with Noah at Central, an organization that succeeds in their mission.  It is a pleasure to work with talented staff who provide such caring comprehensive services to the community.  We give generously because we believe in their mission and witness results of their work.  Please join us in supporting Noah at Central! This Rocket Challenge fundraiser gives Noah an opportunity to win additional prize money. Imagine, if our donation is matched, Noah receives $15,000 toward their goals of $125,000 and first place in the challenge!  The ripple builds a community where Noah clients find a meal and caring people ready to journey with them toward fulfilling their needs and goals.
