Help Me Give Arizona Children a Strong Start

I’m participating in the Rocket Community Challenge to raise funds for Southwest Human Development (SWHD), Arizona’s leader in early childhood development—an organization that is deeply personal to me, and one I am proud to serve as Vice Chair to the board. Every dollar raised helps strengthen the foundation children need for a great start in life.

Why This Matters to Me

As a Maternal-Fetal Medicine physician, I care for families during pregnancy and the earliest stages of life. I see firsthand how vital extra support can be. Many of the families I care for rely on SWHD's Early Intervention services to help their children overcome developmental delays and thrive. Programs like Head Start make a monumental difference in setting kids up for lifelong success, giving them the tools, structure, and nurture they need right from the beginning.

With recent federal and state funding cuts, times are increasingly challenging in the non-profit space. Government support is shrinking, but the needs of our community's children are not. This is precisely when philanthropy matters most—to bridge that gap and ensure no family falls through the cracks.

Southwest Human Development serves children and families across Arizona through comprehensive early learning, child development, and family well-being programs. By supporting this fundraiser, you are directly investing in children during their most critical formative years.

In celebration of my BIRTHDAY month, I am asking for your help to make a lasting impact. The Rocket Community Challenge runs from August 10–14, giving SWHD a chance to compete for additional bonus prize funding.
