One day of refuge can change a life.

At A Place of Refuge, we’ve learned that sometimes the difference between feeling hopeless and believing tomorrow can be better starts with something many of us take for granted: a safe place to sleep tonight.

Imagine trying to prepare for a job interview when you don’t know where you’ll sleep. Imagine keeping your children focused in school while your family is moving from place to place. Imagine being a young adult trying to build a future without a stable place to call home.

That is why we created A Day of Refuge, our $21 fundraising campaign.

For $21, you can help provide one person with one day of safe housing.

But that day represents so much more than a bed.

It represents a door that locks. A place to put your belongings. A place to shower and prepare for work. A place for a child to complete homework. A place to sit quietly and think about what comes next. A place to finally breathe.

Refuge creates room for possibility. This isn’t just about a roof. It’s about a foundation people can rebuild from, one decision, one opportunity, one day at a time.

Thirty days to search for employment. Thirty days to save money. Thirty days for children to wake up in the same place. Thirty days to begin believing that life can look different.

This campaign is also about dignity. Housing insecurity is something a person may experience. It is not who they are. They are parents. Young adults. Sons and daughters. People with dreams, gifts, and plans for their future. Sometimes they simply need a place of refuge while they find their way forward.

Our goal is to build a community of people who believe everyone deserves the chance to begin again. Whether you give $21 once, provide a week, sponsor a month, or share this campaign, you become part of that community.
