As the oldest Furniture Bank in North America, Furniture Bank of Metro Detroit has helped more than 80,000 local families rebuild their lives after experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, house fires, floods, and other life-changing hardships. We also serve veterans, seniors, and families working hard to create safe, stable homes for their children.

A home without furniture isn't truly a home.

Every piece of furniture represents something bigger: stability, dignity, and hope. It helps parents create routines for their children, gives families a place to gather, and turns empty rooms into homes where people can begin to heal and move forward.

Through the generosity of our community, Furniture Bank collects donated furniture, provides essential household furnishings to families rebuilding their lives, and keeps millions of pounds of usable furniture out of local landfills each year.
