OUR MISSION

Providing P.E.A.C.E.

Mission: Provide programs and services in Marquette and Alger Counties that Protect, Educate, Advocate, Counsel, and Empower all survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Vision: To cultivate a future of safety, autonomy, and healing for survivors. Values: At The Women’s Center, we are committed to a values-driven approach that informs every aspect of our programs, services, and organizational culture. These core values guide our leadership, decision-making, and delivery of services, ensuring that every aspect of our work is inclusive, effective, and responsive to the needs of those impacted by domestic and sexual violence: Trauma-Informed: We prioritize the well-being of everyone we serve by fostering a safe, empathetic, and supportive environment. Through policies and practices that address the effects of trauma, we ensure that our programs and leadership create spaces of healing and resilience. Client-Centered: Empowerment is at the heart of what we do. By honoring individual autonomy and promoting respect, inclusivity, and growth, we create opportunities for clients, staff, and community members to actively engage, build skills, and thrive within a culture of mutual value and respect. Intersectional: We embrace diversity and equity, acknowledging how intersecting identities shape experiences and access to resources. Our commitment to inclusivity drives us to design programs, services, and organizational practices that are equitable, representative, and reflective of the communities we serve.
