Who We Are

United Community Housing Coalition (UCHC) believes housing is a human right. Since 1973, our Detroit-based nonprofit has helped residents stay in their homes and neighborhoods through direct support, legal representation, and advocacy.

Each year, we serve thousands of low-income Detroiters through eviction defense, homeownership counseling, foreclosure prevention, tenant organizing, critical home repairs, and housing stability services. These include rental judgment assistance, relocation support, and emergency resources to prevent homelessness.

Whether helping families resolve a title issue, purchase their first home, or fight an unjust eviction, UCHC is committed to building long-term housing stability in Detroit. Our work is grounded in partnership with residents, advocates, and supporters like you. Together, we can keep Detroit housed.
