What's behind Shamrock 555...  

Shamrock 555 – The Stephen Luigi Piazza Foundation is dedicated to carrying out the wishes of our Founder, the late Stephen L. Piazza, known to most as “Luigi”.

For the many new faces within the Rock/Quicken Loans family of companies, Luigi began with Rock Financial in 1995 and throughout his long career was a force to be reckoned with. Among his many strengths during his long tenure with QL were his firm belief in mentorship by bringing out the very best in everyone and his unfailing and quiet generosity to do everything in his power to help those in need, you name it, he was there to help!

Stephen passed on February 26, 2018, after a two-year battle with cancer, but not before he set the wheels in motion for Shamrock 555.   With his determined intentions as our guide, we the Board of Directors of Shamrock 555, have proudly been able to carry on with Luigi’s philanthropic wishes. Our goal will always be to seek out worthy organizations and provide financial awards that will be a direct benefit to children in their educational endeavors, as well as their social needs. Since its inception two years ago, we have been able to make awards for college scholarships and, last year, awarded several opportunities for children with terminal and challenging illnesses to attend a medically supervised camp where for one week they could leave their worries behind and experience a sense of “being a normal kid”.

We certainly can’t do any of this without the help of like-minded supporters and hope as the Rock Charity Challenge winds down,  you will consider a donation to help “spread kindness around like confetti” to help Luigi’s causes through Shamrock 555.

We are Shamrock 555- The Stephen Luigi Piazza Foundation. Our foundation's mission is to carry on SLP’s spirit and philanthropic legacy. Our main emphasis is to continue supporting the endeavors of organizations dedicated to the betterment of children’s educational and social needs as well as the underserved in Detroit and surrounding communities.

Since Luigi's passing and the inception of the foundation 6 years ago, your unwavering support and contributions have enabled us to achieve remarkable milestones. We should all be very proud of the accomplishments these busy and active years have brought. By the close of 2023, we have awarded $555,000 to Stephen’s causes. Your dedication has truly made a difference!
