Ahead of you is a family with four children. Statistically, one of them has likely received care from Phoenix Children's. In fact, 1 in 4 Arizona children receive care from a Phoenix Children's provider.

What you can't see is the story that family may be carrying. You don't see the parent sleeping beside a hospital bed, the worry over missing work, or the stress of choosing between paying bills and getting their child to treatment.

That's where donors make a difference. 

More than half of Phoenix Children's patients come from families with little or no private medical insurance, and many live at or below the federal poverty level. When a child is sick, families often need more than medical care. They may need help paying for gas to get to appointments, a meal while staying at the hospital, or emergency assistance to ease the financial burden of an unexpected diagnosis.

Because of generous donors, Phoenix Children's provides programs like Child Life, Animal-Assisted Therapy, Patient and Family Assistance, and many other services that insurance doesn't cover.
