Little Elm Area Food Bank - Rocket

The Little Elm Area Food Bank (LEAFB) began in 1984 when founder Pearl Gentsch requested cans of food for people experiencing poverty instead of gifts for her birthday.

Initially stored in the old First Baptist Church, the food bank later moved to the original Little Elm Community Center in 2002. In 2005, it relocated to 501 Bill Street, a facility remodeled by the Town of Little Elm. More recently, in 2026, the food bank moved to its new home in the Colin Powell Community Center, located at 520 Lobo Lane. 

The Little Elm Area Food Bank is dedicated to addressing food insecurity in the Little Elm and surrounding areas. We provide essential food assistance, resources, and volunteer opportunities to support individuals and families in need.

Our mission is to provide a two-week food supply to residents experiencing a family emergency and to educate them about additional sources of long-term assistance at the county and state levels. Our programs specifically target both hunger and food insecurity in our community.

Guided by the belief that no one should have to choose between food and necessities, LEAFB continues to grow and meet the community's evolving needs. We proudly serve individuals and families in need, regardless of their location.

Bread, pet food, and "goodie bags" as supplies allow

Up to 12 times per year — no judgment, just compassion
