We're proud to participate in the 2025 Rocket Companies Community Challenge. This transformative fundraising competition gives organizations like ours the chance to unlock additional funding and expand our impact. With your help, we can continue to rewrite the future for Detroit youth.
At Detroit United Lacrosse, we honor the pride Detroiters have in where they come from, and we work to turn that pride into opportunity. Our mission is to build a community of student-athletes who not only excel on the field, but grow into confident, capable leaders in life. Through lacrosse, we are creating opportunities, fostering resilience, and advancing academic achievement for young people across Detroit.
While only 62% of Detroit students graduate from high school, 100% of our athletes do. That’s not just a number. It's a testament to the hard work our students put in every single day.
We’re not just coaching a sport. We’re preparing young people for excellence in all areas of life. Our year-round programs blend lacrosse with free tutoring, nutrition education, character development, and college readiness. From our Detroit City Rec Lacrosse program (ages 3–15) to our competitive Detroit United Panthers travel teams, every athlete receives guidance, support, and a pathway to opportunity. Every single athlete who has completed our program has received at least one college offer.
We are also working to change the face of the game. Lacrosse is one of the largest providers of NCAA scholarships, yet it remains 97% white. Since 2019, we have served more than 2,300 historically underrepresented youth in Detroit, giving them the tools to pursue scholarships, college admission, and leadership roles both on and off the field.
Now we need your help.
Your donation helps us expand access to equipment, fund travel and tournaments, and deliver life-changing academic support. During the Rocket Companies Community Challenge, your support can go even further by helping us compete for bonus prize funding that fuels our future growth.
Support our vision of Detroit as the national model for equitable lacrosse. Invest in our youth. Fuel their futures.
