Nikki's #walkfortheRED Fundraiser

Neighbors United, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is a group volunteers with a goal to make a difference in the lives of families in need, one at a time!

Our largest focus is the #walkfortheRED. In 2019, Joe Warne, a firefighter from Macomb Township, MI and President of Neighbors United had his passion ignited to help those in his own profession. He kept hearing of brothers and sisters that were fighting their cancer and after research, learned that occupational cancer was the leading cause of death for firefighters. That year in June, #walkfortheRED was born. In addition to our annual goal to financially support firefighters & their families affected by cancer, we have added a second program in 2026 that will fund cancer screenings for firefighters. The first screenings under this program are intended to take place in December this year. 

I'm raising money in memory of my late husband, Steve Moor.. He spent 45 of his 60 years on this earth serving his community as a first responder and in the end, gave the ultimate sacrifice. He said "this is the best job in the whole world and even though it gave me cancer and is taking my life, I would not have changed a thing." 

This September 10-13th we are setting out on our 8th annual Michigan walk! We'd LOVE for you to join us!
