Poet Dog Rescue

Poet Dog Rescue DBA Haven of Love Dog Rescue was founded by a small group of passionate animal lovers who simply wanted to make a difference for the homeless, abandoned, neglected, and overlooked dogs of Metro Detroit. From the beginning, our mission has been to help dogs in need regardless of their breed, age, medical condition, or past. We believe every dog deserves a chance, especially the ones many others would turn away.

Established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in October 2023, we began this journey with big hearts, determination, and a commitment to being a voice for animals who had none. Since then, we have rescued, rehabilitated, and helped more than 400 dogs find the loving homes they deserve.

At Haven of Love, we don't just save dogs—we help them heal, learn to trust again, and discover what it means to be loved. Every rescue is a team effort made possible by our dedicated volunteers, fosters, adopters, and supporters who share our belief that every life matters. Together, we are building a brighter future for the animals who need us most, one rescue at a time.
